In 2020, at the age of 16, Shelbayh became the first Jordanian player to ever achieve an ATP ranking. This was a significant milestone for a country with little tennis history. But Shelbayh's impact didn't stop there.

Just a year later, Shelbayh reached the Wimbledon junior doubles final alongside Daniel Rincon. In 2022, he made history again by becoming the first Jordanian player to win a match on the ATP Challenger Tour. This was a major breakthrough for a player who had never reached the top 100.
The Main Tour Debut
In 2023, Shelbayh made his main ATP Tour debut, winning his first match at a clay court tournament in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina. This was followed by a remarkable run in Charleston, where he won the Challenger title, climbing to a career-high ranking of world number 181 in January 2024.
Challenges and Triumphs
However, Shelbayh's success was short-lived. He struggled in 2024 and the first half of 2025, including a 13-match losing streak. Shelbayh fell outside the top 400 in the ATP rankings in September. But, in a remarkable turn of events, he has since won 10 of his last 12 matches, including his second career ATP Challenger title in Las Vegas.
